The most commonly used sign for FATHER or DAD is made with one hand in the shape of U with the palm towards the face. The fingers forming the U hit the cheek lightly twice. A more recently developed sign is made with one hand in the shape of P. The P fingers hit the cheek lightly twice. This is the sign for DAD.
